With the cooperation of Athletic Director Ed Pastilong, head coach Rich Rodriguez, associate athletic director for finance and administration Russ Sharp, senior manager of athletic facilities April Messerly and Sports Publications Director Joe Swan, Helmet Hut proudly became a participant in the new Hall Of Traditions. In typical West Virginia fashion, the presentation of the line of historical Mountaineer helmets at Helmet Hut aroused the interest of the program's rabid supporters and the history of the WVU suspension helmets proved to be the perfect representation of the wonderful WVU football tradition. The succession of accurately reproduced helmets is the ultimate complement to the engraved photos of former Mountaineer players and coaches, the many plaques and trophies noting past triumphs, and the advanced technology that brings many of the greatest of Mountaineer football memories to life. We have considered our involvement with WVU and the new Hall Of Tradition a distinctive privilege and all of the visitors to our site are encouraged to enjoy the West Virginia football experience, and include a visit to The Donald J. Brohard Hall of Traditions.

The representatives of the top collegiate bowl games are always excited and anxious to have the West Virginia University Mountaineers participate in their post-season contests. Mountaineer fans are renown for their loyalty to their state's flagship university. The West Virginia tradition of proud, independent individuals is manifested in a willingness for the football program's supporters to travel far and wide in support of their beloved team and in both successful and lean seasons, they pack Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium.

West Virginia's commitment to excellence is evident in everything connected to the football program. Their 22,000 square foot weight training facility is the third largest collegiate site in the nation. The Caperton Indoor Facility is a sky-lighted state-of-the-art practice site that is the envy of most other collegiate programs. WVU was among the initial group of universities to proceed with the NCAA re-certification process that insures compliance to the rules of the organization, the pursuit of academic and fiscal integrity, and gender-related and sportsmanship issues. Their first-class athletic program has now added The Donald J. Brohard Hall of Traditions in the Milan Puskar Center at Mountaineer Field. This museum traces the incredible history of WVU football glory and presents exhibits that display the Mountaineer legacy.
