Fister vs Gonzalez, 7:10 pm.
The final series of the year begins with Doug Fister taking the hill. I don’t think anyone thought he’d be able to pitch this well with his collection of mediocre stuff, but he threw enough strikes to make it work. The margin for error on guys like this is pretty small, so he might not be able to repeat this kind of season going forward, but 2010 can’t be considered anything other than a big success for Fister.

I was thinking Felix day might have been my last game to watch this year…but Smoak batting cleanup is testing my fortitude.

Awesome to see Smoak getting some solid contact and good hits to carry into next year.
I plan to bid on, and win, the Batting Practice/Inning in the FSN Booth auction.
Great to see Ichiro throw a runner out at the plate. Give us some last minute showmanship to cap the season.
I’m still high off the Ichiro segment in The 10th Inning.
We have a catcher who does a nice job of blocking the plate.
I was just thinking about ol’ Rob the other day. Will Felix buy him a Rolex if he wins the Cy Young? He seems to have recovered nicely from losing his personal catcher.
Time for the annual season-concluding series with the A’s where Lord Beane instructs his team to intentionally lose all games to the Mariners in hopes of damaging Seattle’s draft position for next June.
Bases loaded, so what?
I think they need a SS for next season, maybe Uribe or Tejada?? Jack should retire and make space in the payroll, Josh is a bench player in the best case

I hope that just made the other two dudes bidding on this auction vomit and pass out. That would be the only silver lining.

I think I’ve told this story before, but when I was searching luggage in Spokane the Moose costume came down my way. I put the head on and ran around the airport basement. The Moose head smells bad.

The smell probably explains his attitude. Another favorite Moose story is the poster who was molested by him after heckling him. I don’t think anyone can recover from having the Moose crotch rubbed in your face.

juneau_fan — the guy molested by the moose was Derek, which is why Carson responded to you suggesting he was the one doing the bidding.
My favorite Moose-related trivia/story was when he (apparently) started posting responses to an article Derek wrote right here at USSM. (That entire post and thread is worth a read, if you haven’t seen it before.)
