I can’t believe Lopez is hitting fourth [ducks].

    Saunders … yay!

Play well over the next 30 games and win the job for next season.

Play poorly and … well, we have no idea what that might mean, actually.

I’m just hoping Saunders is really okay this time – we’ll see, I guess.

I think Tui’s bad, but he should be playing rather than Lopez or Kotchman – it’s not like either is a part of our future, while Tui has a (small) non-zero chance of being a Mariner down the road.

Wow, I guess everyone’s still caught in the huge jam-up downtown and can’t get home…

(I just got home, so I’m behind in the game)

I am underwhelmed with Saunders. Please show me some stats that indicate he is a major league player. (This is a serious request, professor).

    I thought you liked Ichiro.

And Adam Moore (although the enthusiasm for Moore strikes me as being about as deserved as the prior enthusiasm for Lopez and Betancourt).

Russell Branyan has played well, in my perception, since coming back to the team.

    Oh well.

I can’t wait until next year when we won’t have to see Lopez and Kotchman coming up to “bat” in a scoring chance.

But then again, like “Figgy”, Lopie might be Jack Z’s guy, and he could be back again.

One of the best defensive plays this field has had all year. In fact, I can’t think of any better right now.

No, hopefully go away Lopie, and Figgy too, Lopie is awful, and Figgy is discontent with the organization and the organization with him, Kotch could be the backup 1st base with a reasonable contract…

Four runs down with this team means game over – heck, TWO runs down usually means game over. I think I’m done watching…

No way. The best defensive play of the season has been by our seats beyond the outfield walls, they’ve caught nearly every ball that has come in their direction by the opposing teams.

Haha, that was supposed to say “infield” but my phone changed it for some reason. but point taken… lol.

White flag! White flag! I’m smelling a double for the Angels.

  13. lalo on August 30th, 2010 9:28 pm

Balk, definetily the worst season ever

  14. jordan on August 30th, 2010 9:29 pm

Gotta thank torii hunter for not laying a lick on our catcher of the future right there.

If I haven’t said it before, I love to see Sean White in a tight game. Who doesn’t??

Could Kotch run any slower? Yikes. He looked like my grandpa. If we score 2 here in the 9th and lose by one, it just adds to the pile of crap of this season. On the positive side, we’re closer to the #1 pick. How many games back are we?

  17. Kazinski on August 30th, 2010 9:55 pm

We don’t have anybody that can pinch run for Kotchman when he leads off with a hit in the bottom of the ninth? He is the worse base clogger we have had on the team since?

I don’t know. Vidro was faster, maybe even Edgar.

  18. samregens on August 30th, 2010 10:05 pm

The Angels look like a pretty bad team now and it sucks that we’re even worse than them.

And we need to call Wak back to kick Figgy’s butt a little, he’s back to being sucky again.

If I haven’t said it before, I love to see Sean White Young in a tight game dress. Who doesn’t??

    Dear Rick L:

Saunders has an ISO of .175, which is higher than anyone on the team not named Russell.

  21. PeterCampbell on August 31st, 2010 9:09 am

When did Ichiro lose the exclamation point? He’s not even having his worst season, is he?

  22. Westside guy on August 31st, 2010 9:24 am

Saunders has an ISO of .175, which is higher than anyone on the team not named Russell.

Offensively he’s still a work in progress, as Dave and others have pointed out before – but his potential definitely shines through on a semi-regular basis. And while he’s not Guti in the field, he’s a good defensive player with speed.

Saunders is definitely one of the bright spots, especially during a season with precious few of them. I’m looking forward to seeing him get the shot next year right out of spring training. After the past year or so, it’ll be nice not to hear a great sucking sound coming from left field (basically ever since Yuni took out Chavez).
