Game 17, Mariners at Angels

DMZ · April 24, 2009 at 6:01 pm · Filed Under Mariners

7:05, FSN. Here’s the M’s lineup against SP-R Shane Loux.

RF-L Ichiro!
LF-L Chavez
DH-L Griffey
3B-R Beltre
1B-L Branyan
2B-R Lopez
C-R Johnson
CF-R Gutierrez
SS-R Betancourt

Yay Branyan returns!

Meanwhile, we get this awesome (for us) Angels lineup:
3B-B Figgins
RF-B Matthews
LF-L Abreu
CF-R Hunter
1B-B Morales
C-R Napoli
2B-R Kendrick
DH-R Quinlan
SS-B Aybar

The Angels have another switch hitter (Izturis) that’s not in the lineup, but they could plausibly field five in a game. The M’s have zero.

Could you imagine Capt. Picard calling a game?

As long as Warf is his color-man.

Actually, before he even played Warf, I remember Michael Dorn playing one of the road patrol officers on CHIPS — and later thought it would’ve been hilarious if he’d have ever played that role in Klingon makeup! 🙂

Actually, Patrick Stewart might be kinda cool…

Could you imagine Capt. Picard calling a game?

Ok – this is too dork for even me now… 😉

    Goodnight!

    egreenlaw9 –

And, yes, I do know who Stewart Patrick is, too…so pardon my diversion into another “quadrant”, so to speak! 😉

Just heard the clip of Jason Bay kicking Mariano Rivera’s arse earlier tonight…tee-hee!

    *dreams*

Warf: “Captain, we are being hailed by the PR department.”

    Picard: “On screen”

PR: “Hello Captain. Mike Sweeney tweaked his back. He should be day to day. Nothing to serious.”

    *back to game*

Warf: “Captain, do you think they should try a squeeze here?”

Picard: “What do you think Diana.”

Diana: “I’m sensing a strange disturbance in the pitcher’s delivery. I suspect he’s going to try to sneak a fastball right down the middle.”

Riker: “If it’s a fastball down the middle, we should go for the squeeze captain.”

    Picard: “Make it so.”

If it makes anyone feel better, I have the mlb extra innings packaged, and was forced to listen to Rex “the wonderdog” Hudler, babble on for 9 innings.

    It could be MUCH worse.

As usual, the game summary comic at HH is amusing (and pretty much the only thing worth reading there, unless you like skimming through their game threads for nuggets of angst whenever the M’s beat them).
