For whatever it’s worth to y’all, I actually enjoy “The War At Home.” As far as I’m concerned, it’s a decent hybrid of “Married With Children” and “Grounded For Life,” which is a lot more entertaining than the numerous reality shows and inane dramas that are currently on network television.
As it is, my favorite show that’s presently on network television is “The Office” (U.S.); it’s a intelligent comedy that relies on dry humor and relatively realistic storylines. I can’t hate on that.
Besides baseball, I watch almost no television. I think I probably am not missing much, that sitcom is unfunny and vile.
I guess that seems like watching a Joel Pineiro start and concluding that you’re not missing much by ignoring the Mariners. Sure, by avoiding the Mariners altogether you’ll miss the agony of the Meche/Pineiro starts, but you’ll also miss King Felix and other various good stuff. Whatever the name of this sitcom is, you can do better elsewhere on TV. (Granted, there’s not a ton of good stuff out there, but this is pretty bad show.)
I think Gresham’s law of bad money driving out good money is applicable to television. I just can’t bear to wade through all the crap to find the good, or even, ok show. So I don’t bother.

I don’t know how they (the forecasters Joe Buck is referring to) are forecasting 9:15 CT as the start time for this game. Looking at the radar, I’d say that the front is stalling over St. Louis if anything and it kind of looks like it might get worse before it gets better.

That’s fair enough, but if you know anyone whose opinion you trust who watches TV more than you, it’s not like you have wade through everything yourself.
Well, the apathetic disdain that most of y’all have for network television sitcoms absolutely shocks me. As it is, my negativistic attitude toward nearly anythin’ and everythin’ — which, without a doubt, encompasses numerous things (e.g., the Seattle Mariners) — is surprisingly surpassed by y’all in this case. In the end, though, y’all are entitled to have your own opinion regardin’ this issue—there’s no denyin’ it!

To be fair, I do watch baseball, the Sopranos and Bill Maher. I know when those shows are on.
I too almost never watch anything but baseball. So the cable will have its own off-season until April.
My special lady friend just got me Walker’s “Fantasyland” this last weekend.

Agreed. I also do enjoy The War at Home. Although, probably not 2 hours worth and certainly not as much as watching the Cardinals.

If y’all didn’t watch “Project Runway” you missed out on the most hilarious bitchfest ever. “The Office” and “My Name is Earl” are both hysterically funny. “Arrested Development”, now cancelled, was the funniest show that’s ever been on television, even funnier than “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, which itself makes classics like “Seinfeld” and “Frazier” look sick in comparison. “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” are together some of the best satire ever produced. Lots of great TV nowadays. This is a golden age, in fact.
Saying that there’s nothing good on TV is like saying baseball sucks, look how terrible that Willie Bloomquist is.

But on the plus side we get an episode of the Simpson’s I’ve seen about a dozen times.
Has FOX announced the rain-out?
I don’t know about FOX, but someone announced it on ESPN, and that’s what espn.com is reporting. I don’t see how it makes any sense to start a game between two central timezone teams after 9:30 CT on a Wednesday. Rain happens. Eat the travel day, move on.

Those of you who are from Washington, is Rt. 12 from Morton to Yakima as pretty of a drive as it looks on paper?
The drive is great for about 2/3 of way then you get Orofino without water

and then plus, at the end you are in Yakima, the Palm Springs of Washington!
I grew up around the Yak area, it’s not bone dry like once you get further Southeast, although I would hope that you have something on your agenda after you get to Yakima (other than procuring some dirtweed or stealing a car – top 10 in the nation for car theft this year!)

78: The plan was to get out of class at 2:00, drive to Yakima the scenic way by 5:15, and and then eat dinner at Wendy’s downtown, and head back to TAcoma by 6:00.

I believe it. But you don’t get to drive by Mt. RAinier, Mt St. Helen’s, and ford Snoqualmie Pass just to eat there.
Sounds look a good enough time to me, I’d say go for it, it is a pretty drive.

Corco if you’re looking for a pretty day/drive head up Deception Pass State Park on Fidalgo/Whidbey Island and check out the view from the bridge. You can hit Mt Erie in Anacortes where you’re about 1100ft up and get a 360 view if you walk around to a couple spots. You can see Mt. Baker, the San Juan islands, and the Olympic Mts if you get a clear day. Anacortes doesn’t have a Wendy’s though. Only about 1 1/2 hours or so drive each way.

What with Navy housing and people from King Co. moving up to Sno. Co. to escape the traffic and living congestion, it’s probably terrible north of Arlington, now, maybe all the way up to Mt. Vernon. I’m SOOOOOO glad I moved away from there 4 yrs. ago.
