Shirt hawking

DMZ · February 25, 2006 at 6:38 pm · Filed Under Mariners

February’s a short month — the first batch of the USSM Limited Edition shirts are about to disappear, never to be seen again. Do you want people to ask you about the traffic in McCall, Idaho? Do you want to support our continuing efforts to spread fear and suspicion, negativity and navel-gazing? Do you wish that there was some way you could clothe your body in a way that keeps you slightly warmer while also possibly reducing the number of “Internal System Error” messages you see on this site? Of course you do.

Thanks to everyone who has already helped out. Reports so far on the quality of shirts have said they look really, really sweet (thanks to the fine design talents of JoelE and Ambivalent Maybe).

If you’ve got ideas for next month’s LEs, or if you want to throw us a design for the shop, drop us a line.

I love my King t-shirt, but just as a note… the crown doesn’t really come off as a crown so much as a smudge on the actual print job….

p.s. how would an anagram line-up look? 🙂

Does it help if we click these oh-so-subtle ads between posts, as well?

I’m just trying that out (again). The gap between T-shirt sales and “new hosting” is fairly substantial. Also, Google’s terms of service is pretty explicit in that we’re not to ask for clicks or suggest that you check out the ads or anything.

Also — a smudge? I’m pulling them immediately! That’s unacceptable!

well, it’s kind of crown-looking … but it is rather opaque and a pale grey/black, above the stronger blue lettering. It certainly is not going to keep me from displaying my allegiance with pride!

That’s the spirit. Up they stay!

oh, re: the ads– the only thing that I mind is that they stretch the box out horizontally (and so the reply box is skewed as well) which means I have to change the size of my window to see the comments link. Not really a terrible hardship, though….

Suggestion, possibly already thought of and rejected: have you ever tried just putting up a paypal box so people could just donate if they wanted? one of my favorite websites/bloggers does that in addition to the google ads and shirt selling (www.gumbopages.com, i think the paypal donation box is in the looka! blog section).

For this month’s LE, maybe Grover’s quote from the TNT today… “We all should have a bit of Willie Bloomquist in us.”

I forgot to let you guys know that my Gay Paleontologist shirt arrived. So, we know that it takes about 2 weeks for cafepress to get a shirt to Canada

The shirt rocks, by the way.
