Thrill as Carl Everett bats left-handed against Moyer, muttering to himself about dinosaurs! Shudder as Greg Dobbs once again occupies the Designated Misser slot! Wait in anticipation for the next King Fleix start!

Tie game. Curacao went for the game ending DP with one out and only got the lead runner. 1st and 3rd, 2 out.
1st extra inning LL WS final since 1971 when Lloyd McClendon was pitching (he lost).

What a great LLWS game.
And that’s the kind of M’s game we haven’t seen for a while. Beating up on a good pitcher. Kind of ironic, Freddy getting chased after back-to-back hits by the guys he was traded for (yeah, there was some other guy in that deal, I know). I don’t think Hargrove would know irony if he used it to press his uniform, but nice of him to stack them up in the lineup like that all the same.
You know, there may be 10,000 seats available for the next Felix start, but they aren’t very good ones from what I can see…
No way there was 30,000 at todays game. There were open complete rows in the 100 level. We walked right down into the 1st base section in the 100 level and scooped up a couple of unused seats.
As much as I don;t think Willie *&*&)__ Bloomquist is an every day player, he certainly was the ignitor today. A few key hits and very good baserunning. Got to give him his kudos today.
Bizarro infield of WFb at 3rd, Morse at SS (who should have gotten flagged with at least 1 error today), Yuni at 2b and Hansen at 1st in the last few innings.
Luckily Chicago mailed this effort in.
Irony is Beltre at the plate, 2 strikes, runner at 3rd, Freddy goes for the breaking ball in the dirt that Beltre hasn’t been able to lay off this year and throws it 5 feet in front of home and way outside bringing the runner in from 3rd. That’s when you have an inkling it’s going to be your team’s day.

How does one sleep on their eye the wrong way? Does he keep needles around his bed or something? Weirdest injury ever perhaps? No wait, that goes to John Smoltz, who once burnt himself ironing — a shirt he was wearing.
I went to the game today and i started thinking as bad as freddy was today the wsox got the best end of the deal .Olivo gone for nothing reed is a 4th of with no pop and morse cant play ss now has to be a of.Garcia gives you 200 innings and double digit wins .I think we got beat in this deal anyone else feel this way?

#112. If any ballplayer us still breathing we got the best of it. Freddy had a problem, and so did his SS bud. They both needed a fresh start, they got it and excelled. My hats off to them both, way to go fellows. I really hope our 1st and 3rd guy’s aren’t out long.

All I’m going to say.
Freddy is sucking down considerable cash from the White Sox. Reed is still a young outfielder (the jury is out), Morse, while probably not a SS is still a potential big league player, Olivo we flipped for some mediocre talent after giving him a shot at holding down the primary catching position.
All in all I’d stil make the trade again. We saw the best of Freddy in 2001. IMO opinion he may be an innings eater but he’ll never be a #1 starter which is what he’s paid like.
We’ll probably get something for Morse in trade in the offseason, so you have to factor that in as well.
Injuries — I’ve slept with a pillow pressed into my eye socket (had it wrapped around my head to keep sound out, in the days before I discovered the wonders of ear plugs) that left me with blurred vision when I woke but it didn’t take all that long to clear. Of course I wasn’t trying to hit 90mph fast balls either.
As far as weird ones go — what about that prospect that cut his hand by crushing a coke bottle at a buddy’s funeral, mentioned in one of the “attrition war” updates a couple of days ago? That’s got to rate pretty high up there, unless you get into “luggage” and “bar stool” and “haunch of deer meat” what’s-the-frequency-kenneth pseudo-stories…

(All of this ignores the buyout of club option years at the back end of the contract.)
I think you are going to have a hard time finding a #1 starter for $9m/year these days, which is what Freddy is getting. Mind you, I’m not saying he is a #1 starter, just that he’s not being paid like one.
