Windows 7 Security
Hopefully someone out there with more experience on this can shed some light.
When I do a right-click properties on a folder, it is set to "read-only". When I click the read-only box so it is empty and click apply (to unset read-only), I get shown a box that is selected (and cannot be unselected) for "apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files". I click OK, it displays the progress as it supposedly unsets read-only on all files and folders. Except if you go check any folder, it still has the read-only set.
This is causing me a problem with backup using SyncBack (a fantastic program) because it's giving me errors. And I can tell the error, because when I try to copy a file one at a time, Windows prompts me to confirm that I have admin rights to override yada yada yada. Even though I am administrator to begin with, it still respects the read-only set, and wants confirmation. Unfortunately, SyncBack won't offer me that override choice (as presumably this has to be handled directly by Windows 7).
Anyway, that's all I know about Windows security. So if you can help me out, that'll save me some 300 files that I don't have to manually copy.?
