When ties make sense
?First, I can't believe they let kids play TEN periods of hockey in one day. Secondly, they could have also postponed the game into a part II rather than keep playing OT (remember that minor league Pawtucket game?). I mean, if you can let the rain decide to postpone a game, player fatigue (from kids) certainly is just cause. I'm pretty sure other competitions have done that (like a spelling bee even!) Finally, ending in a tie is perfectly reasonable as well. Nothing wrong with co-champions.
As was recently noted: We're not crowning the best team... just the most deserving. Seven OT periods means that they both deserved it. Do we really needed to decide based on a likely random variation play?
