Similarity Cubes
?You may remember Glenn Healey from the wOBA Cube, using launch speed, angle, spray. He's back, this time focused on similar pitches using release speed and movement (x, z), along with Zhao and Brooks. What's interesting is that they focus on individual pitches, so that he can handle frequency at the same time as he can handle "shapes". This is exactly how I approach it, except I would brute force my way with SQL rather than this solution, which may be much better.
I was lucky enough to meet Glenn at SABR, albeit much too short a meeting.
