Statitudes

Our good buddy Justin Kubatko offers his stats and development services via his consulting business.  Most of you know him through his creation of Basketball and Hockey Reference sites (sister sites to Baseball Reference).  He's also done work for a pro NBA team.  He seems ideally suited to fill in a niche out there, and he's got the skills to do it.  I can even see someone like MGL that might avail himself of his services.  Heck, even MLB.com. Tell him you "heard it from Tango".

I sometimes have a very interesting relationship with the hundreds (thousands?) of people I interact with online.  As some of you know, I've rarely physically met anyone in the sports world, including my co-authors MGL and Andy.  I think the total number is four.  Just the way I am I guess.  My basic feeling is that it takes time away from being with my family. Anyway, so when you deal with everyone via email and online postings, we're just a comma away from disaster.

When Justin first started rolling out Hockey Reference, let's just say that I was a combination of excited and vociferous.  That probably took Justin aback, and I ended up displeasing him, of which I felt terrible, and I took the blame.  Relationship could have gone either way, so, it tells me something about Justin that it went in a positive light.  Since then, he's been generous with my requests, and I enjoy my interactions with him.
