Kershaw’s sub 2 in ERA and FIP
?Incredibly, only four other pitchers have done it in the same season, with the most recent being Tom Seaver. But, it's easier to do that in a low run environment, which is why we want ERA- and FIP- to adjust for that.
Once you do that, he's still impressive, but now we have other names, more familiar and obvious names. Pedro did it 4 times (max of 52 in ERA- and FIP-). RJ did it once. Roger Clemens did it once. And then it's Kershaw.
