BPro’s replacement level
?A few months back, Bryan showed that BPro changed their calculations for WARP.
And, BPro’s numbers obviously went through a change for the last two seasons that didn’t get applied to the prior years. I would consider this a significant problem.
Looks like they finally fixed the problem. And it's been reported that Sean at BR.com and David at Fangraphs are coalescing around a common replacement level. Not sure if/how this affects BPro, but I would encourage that all three sites (and anyone else doing WAR) to find common ground. As Poz noted a few weeks back, in those places where we CAN find common ground, we SHOULD find common ground. Since everyone has their replacement levels around the .270 to .330 win% range, it sure seems easy enough to find that common ground.
