Bowing before the gods
Or Lionel Messi.
In Gretzky's last NHL game (which went into OT), the opposing player (Jagr, a superstar in his own right), scored the winning goal. Jagr skated over to Gretzky and APOLOGIZED for scoring the goal. In a non-exhibition game. Gretzky, being Gretzky, told Jagr that it was fitting that the baton has been passed onto Jagr.
I also remember the Marlins saluting Clemens in his (assumed) last start.
I love these "ultimate respect" moments.
But nothing can compare to what Bourque did for Esposito.?
