NHL Stadium Series
Taking a page out of Upper Deck, the NHL is figuring the more the better, and so, have expanded their two times a year outdoor games (one in USA around New Year's, and one in Canada) to... well, I don't know how many, but I think I need more than one hand to count them. They have smartly taken advantage of the weekend of pre-Super Bowl to schedule several of them. And Yankee Stadium will host two of them. Others confirmed are in Michigan, Chicago, and at Dodger Stadium. There'll be at least one in Canada (you'd think that the cold conditions of Canada would warrant more there, but, alas, I'm not smart enough to figure it out).
If they can control themselves a bit, maybe alternate every year between many and few, it has a chance to remain special. I'm thinking that with next year's Olympics, the NHL won't go overboard on the idea. But, let's see how it plays out.?
