NHL renames their divsions, blows it?
I would have gone with the old idea of naming the divisions after important people: Gretzky for the division with Oilers/Kings, Orr for the division with the Bruins, Lemieux for the Penguins' division, and well, Howe for the fourth one.
If you want to stick with the boring options, then take the current six division names, and lop off two of them.? That would mean keeping the Atlantic, Northeast, Central, Pacific, and losing Northwest and Southeast.
Instead, they kept three of those (Atlantic, Pacific, Central), and, incredibly, named the fourth one "Metropolitan". And the teams in the Atlantic division are not the ones that should be in the Atlantic division.
I can't believe this is the best they could come up with.
