Most interesting super heroes

I think this is what Poz did here.  Regardless, that's what I'm doing here.  My experience stops in the mid-80s.  One thing for sure is that the interestingness of the super-hero is tied directly to whatever writer/creator has had a chance on him.

Daredevil was cool, but Frank Miller put him on a whole new level, especially with Bullseye, Elektra, and Kingpin.  As an example: you have these 4 characters in a movie not based on a Miller story, and it's a replacement-level movie.

Batman was cool, but Miller put him on a whole new level.  Tim Burton was smart enough to use some of the Miller elements, while Christopher Nolan was smarter to use even more of them.  Batman also had a great array of villains to contend with.  I still refuse to watch the movie that killed the franchise before Nolan resurrected it.  Wolverine too took off in the comics once Miller got a hold of him.

The Flash had a great array of villains as well.  Which I think is another way to measure the interestingness of a character, based on who he or she has to contend against.

Superman is fairly uninteresting because he's too powerful, thereby he becomes more interesting when someone can take powers away from him (i.e, kryptonite).  My favorite Superman stories involved The Phantom Zone and Parasite.  I still can't believe I not only watched the one with Richard Pryor, but the one after that one too.

Hulk / Bruce Banner / Bill Bixby / Lou Ferrigno: that was interesting.  Otherwise... not.  Aquaman?  Green Arrow?  Green Lantern?  Sad to say that I can't remember any of their stories (though Neal Adams preceded me).

Iron Man is only interesting with Robert Downey Jr.  Otherwise, I don't remember a single issue I read.

Spiderman is cool. I think Batman, Daredevil, and Spidey share many traits.

On a related note: the best single power to have?  Hands down, it's teleportation.
