I actually didn’t mind the idea of a pass on 2nd and goal at the 1. You had ~25 second and just one time out, so you don’t have time for 3 running plays. And if you run but don’t get in on 2nd, you’d've burned your timeout.

But a throw over the middle into tight coverage is too risky.  Here we saw a clean pick, but there’s also a good chance at a tipped ball INT.

I’d have had Wilson roll out and look for Matthews on a corner route. Wilson could run it in or put it where only Matthews could catch it, or simply throw it away and leave you with two shots to pound Marshawn Lynch in. But the key is not putting yourself in position to make a crucial turnover!
