Does anyone know how long an NBA game would need to be to match the random variation seen in other sports?
In baseball a team with a .600 winning percentage is playing extremely well. In the NBA a team can win at a .750-.800 clip. It stands to reason that if the games get shorter random variation will start to become a bigger part of the game. I bring this up as the NBA recently experimented with a 44 minute game and I wonder how short the games would have to get to start matching the other leagues.
