Scottish Category Theory Seminar

Category theory is a relatively new branch of mathematics which seeks to understand abstract mathematical structure. At its core, category theory contains a synthesis of algebraic, logical and geometric intuitions. This allows for both diverse applications and innovative insights in areas including pure mathematics, computer science, physics etc.

The Scottish Category Theory Seminar provides a forum for discussion of all aspects of category, be they straight category theory or applications to other scientific fields. We meet for an afternoon once every few months, at some congenial location in Scotland. Talks by Scots and by visitors are welcome. Please contact us if you would like to host a meeting or give a talk. Meetings are open, and all are welcome to attend. For more information about the Scottish Category Theory Seminar, please contact scotcats@cis.strath.ac.uk.

The Scottish Category Theory Seminar is run by Neil Ghani and Fredrik Nordvall-Fosrberg of the University of Strathclyde
