Cornelius Trakker
Cornelius Trakker was a scientist for the United States government, helping to develop Project Spectrum alongside Miles Mayhem. His work left him little time to spend with his wife, Alessandra or his son Matt.
Fiction[edit | edit source]
Cornelius Trakker lived in Long Island, New York with his wife Alessandra Trakker and son Matthew. While he was frequently away for months at a time working, he overjoyed to discover Matt was an engineering genius by age 10. Matt idolized his father and wanted to grow up to be just like him.
After the Decepticon invasion, Cornelius became the head of Project Spectrum, designing specialized vehicles that could combat Cybertronians, and the prototype Masks. Cornelius worked alongside General Miles "Mayhem" Manheim, who became a good friend to the Trakker family. While searching through data on Mayhem's lost Mask, Gloria Baker discovered a folder called "C. Trakker," which contained several videos of Cornelius, as well as the locations of his secret laboratories around the country. One of these was located in Malibu, Florida and would become the headquarters for M.A.S.K. when they were forced to go on the run. M.A.S.K. #1
Notes[edit | edit source]
- The little story nugget of Miles Mayhem and Cornelius Trakker's affiliation is based on the original M.A.S.K. franchise backstory, as told through the mini-comic packaged with the first wave of toys, in which it was Matt's brother, Andy, who designed the M.A.S.K. tech and who perished (the M.A.S.K. cartoon would also later use "Andrew" as the name of Matt's father, which might also be influencing this reimagined version of the story). Mayhem was, of course, responsible for killing Andy—which transfers to Cornelius in the IDW continuity.
