The big Chinese gong was hung from the eaves
Chinese gong in a Buddhist temple
Shot at a Buddhist temple in Kamakura, Kanagawa

Kamakura is just the right distance from Tokyo to visit on a day trip. Although a lot of people visit, most of them only visit the famous tourist attractions such as the Great Buddha of Kamakura and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, and not all of the many Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples are crowded.

The temple I came across on my walk was not such a tourist attraction. When I stepped into the temple grounds, it was very quiet. I was the only visitor to this temple. There was a rope and a gong hanging in front of the main hall. The gong was clearly reflected in the glass windows of the main hall.
