Bedtime routine with 2 kids

We have two sons (newly turned 3 years old and 1 year old) who currently sleep in separate rooms. We would like to have them share a room but I am trouble figuring out the best nighttime routine. Both boys eat dinner together and have a bath together. The 3-year old is extremely active and his routine involves winding down then potty, pajamas, and books. We leave his room around 7:30pm (which sometimes he manages to push to 8pm). He then chats to himself or bops around his bed till he falls asleep. The 1 year old is more straight forward: around 7pm we read a book and he drinks his milk and falls asleep instantly. [more inside]

Food Poisoning and Getting to Urgent Care

I think I have moderate salmonella poisoning and have spent the last hour and a half trying to stabilize my stomach and bowel. I may need to get myself to an urgent care center or an ER. If I call an ambulance, how will the EMTs handle me having ongoing, simultaneous vomiting and diarrhea? Writing this during a brief reprieve and am embarrassed by the prospect of losing my dignity.

Help for Newbie to Gym Etiquette

For my son's birthday this year, my one sister gifted us with a membership to a pool club near us that specializes in disabled kids and families. They also have a basketball court, an open gym, a gathering room, and a tiny gym. [more inside]

Alexa, Escape the Room hints please

I haven't been able to find a walkthrough anywhere online. If you know of one or can outline the solution, that would be great. I just want to help them over the really complicated parts, and don't have hours of free time to puzzle it out myself.

Help me make my big house seem ... smaller?

Our old farmhouse was remodeled in the 50s and as a result, the living room is seriously something like 35 x 20 in some spots, while others are 'only' 15 feet wide. We moved here from a house that could fit IN our current living room. It's freaking me out. I'd really like to make the house, our living room especially, seem more cozy. What are some ideas or hacks to make this happen? I see lots of tips on how to make rooms seem bigger, but not so many to make the walls feel like they're closing in on you.

Apps 86°

I have a lot of cream cheese. I have a lot of wonton wrappers. I need to make room temp (in hot August weather) appetizers. Hopefully toddlers will like some of them. What recipes do I want? I'm also happily accepting other recipes or ideas for warm room temp apps, and/or store bought items. I'm throwing a party in August for my toddler's birthday and am, um, self-catering. It will be an indoor/outdoor party, and our AC isn't great to begin with, so let's assume it will be warm inside as well as hot outside. I'm planning to rely heavily on Trader Joe's NYC stores for apps and wine, so suggestions are welcome, as they are for other stores or homemade ideas.

Reclaiming safe space after suicide attempt

I am just home from the hospital and a subsequent care center after I took a prescription overdose nearly 2 weeks ago that was nearly fatal. I live in an apartment with a roommate. Even before the overdose, I never felt fully comfortable here even though I realize it's better, safer, etc. than a lot of living situations I've had. But now that I associate my room with wanting to die, it's naturally a bit more dire that I break that association. I'm familiar with some spiritual ways of cleansing a place, and have a plan to slowly do physical cleaning as well. What are some other ways of reclaiming and even embracing my space?
