Diner Servers! I need your help!
Hi! My partner and I are big diner people and I'm trying to put together a little gift for him. I want to write out our diner order but I'd love for it to be as authentic as possible. How would you write the following order in diner shorthand:
Coffee
Sausage, egg & cheese
Chocolate milk
Short stack pancakes
Bonus if you can share a picture of this written on a diner "guest check"
Thank you in advance! <3
Where in Stockholm should I eat Kalix löjrom?
While in Stockholm I'd like to try Kalix löjrom (vendace roe from Bothnian Bay), since it seems like the ideal time of year for it. I'd prefer this to be at a restaurant. I could buy a small jar or tin, but wouldn't have the means to prepare it properly at a hotel and it sounds like it needs to be kept frozen if I want to bring it back home (not going to be possible). So far all I've heard is that it's served at 'nicer restaurants'. Does anyone have specific recommendations?

Smelly balcony
My condo has a relatively spacious, covered balcony that I'd like to use more often. Unfortunately, it faces onto an alleyway that we share with a number of restaurants, and in the summertime the smell of rotting food coming from the dumpsters is pretty awful. Is there anything I can do to make the space more tolerable, smell-wise? [more inside]
NYC: Tasty Vegetarian Options south of 31st dining filter
What are some restaurants with tasty vegetarian options in Manhattan? Looking especially for places south of 31st, and ideally north of Houston. We'll be there in April, so if it's closing on March 31 don't tell us! We love Xi'an food but aren't sure Xi'an Famous Foods has anything vegetarian. We also love Malaysian food and can't get any Malaysian vegetarian options where we are. Outdoor dining is a plus.
How to eat out with minimal sugar/simple starch/processed food?

Is Ronnie from Undercover Boss still screwed?
Ronnie was an employee on Undercover Boss in 2013 who worked at the Boston Market restaurant. On the show, his boss fired him on the spot after catching him making disparaging comments about customers (not to their faces). Three months later, they did a follow-up episode and showed him still unemployed. Now it's ten years later and he'd be almost 30. How likely is it that he's found another job since? [more inside]

Help me interview/evaluate restaurant manager candidates
I am on the board for a branch of a combo fraternal order / social club / benevolent society. We have a small restaurant and bar, and need to hire a general manager responsible for overseeing inventory, pricing, books, cooks, bar manager, event coordination, and gambling manager. I have zero experience in these areas, and neither does the rest of the board. Have you done this, and can you help me identify good interview questions and rubrics and models for evaluating candidates? tysm!

Meeting and eating spot maybe near Hartford, CT?
Where should my brother and I eat lunch and hang out? We live a little farther apart than ideal for a day trip. Recommended Chicago River Architecture Boat Tour
I will be in Chicago at the end of June, where I will be meeting up with a group of about 10 to 20 people (still in flux). We'd like to purchase tickets for one of the river architecture boat tours. There seem to be several different companies selling tickets. Is there one you'd recommend?
Also, we'd like to do a group dinner after. Are there any restaurants you'd recommend near the end of the boat tour that are under $40 per person? Thank you in advance!
Restaurants in Center City Philadelphia for a Vegan + Picky Meat Eaters?
Pretty much what it says on the tin! I love dining out in Philly but, as a long-time vegan and ex-Philadelphian, I have no idea what's good in the non-vegan restaurant scene anymore and now am tasked with making a dinner reservation for myself and some not-so-adventurous meat eaters. [more inside]

What's your Check Please hand signal, and what does it signify?

Covid safe drinking/dining in Edinburgh
A pal wants us to dine out with them in Edinburgh in December. But no restaurant advertises clean air or ventilation as Covid precautions - just useless stuff like hand sanitising, based on the wrong model of transmission. I would settle for a large airy place with few people in it - but that's also impossible to predict. It's too cold for outdoors at night. Has anyone any ideas?
Dining options near NY Penn Station/Herald Sq.
I'm looking for a dinner and lunch recommendations in the Penn Station/Herald Square area. It's just me, and I'm born and raised in NYC, though now living in Boston.
