Video projections for my Talking Heads cover band

The Talking Heads cover band I'm in is going to play a show for a few hundred people. I may get a chance to put up a screen and use a short-throw projector to project images and videos. I would love the crowd to help come up with those images and videos. [more inside]

Tips for archiving performance of stage play using Canon T3i?

Last time I taped a play it was using an old-fashioned tape-based camcorder with settings controls that were easily accessed for on-the-fly adjustment. I downloaded a user manual for the T3i, but I haven't done much shooting with DSLRs so I could use some tips. [more inside]

Easy/cheap/cool visualizations?

I'm a member of a psychedelic rock band, and none of us are so good-looking or stage-charismatic that we'd want to be the primary thing people stare at. So we'd like to do the video-projection thing. But... we're not so into the classic hippie-melting-colors look, or the collage-of-spaceships-and-mushroom-clouds-and-wise-indians thing. What we'd really like, I think, is some simple geometric shapes, slowly morphing and transforming in hypnotic ways. Like a screensaver, only not lame. Any suggestions for the best way to do this? Ableton Live and Synced Video for Concert

The band uses Ableton Live for backing tracks (drummer uses a click track - metronome). From the arrangement view (Live's VSTs are used also) is there a way to place video in a track and have it stream from a Macbook while the audio streams to a soundcard? If not, what is the easiest way to play videos in sync with the backing tracks? [more inside]

Looking for Lady Macbeth

I am looking for great performances of Lady Macbeth. Please point me towards any recordings (video, audio) of Lady M's finest moments. I don't need whole productions of Macbeth, just great performances of Macbeth's wife. Online, preferably. [more inside]

New PC games run slowly on large LCD monitors?

I just bought a pretty high-end Dell PC with a large LCD monitor. It's got dual Core2 CPUs @ 2.66GHz, 4 GB of RAM, and a decent graphics card. The monitor is a widescreen 27" Dell Ultrasharp. So far, I like the PC. But I was disappointed to find that the first PC game I tried (BioShock) runs TERRIBLY. The game does run pretty well on my slightly older PC, which only has a 19" monitor. So, I think the large, widescreen monitor is the problem. Is that correct? Are there tricks to running the latest games on a large LCD monitor? Many thanks in advance for any advice and insight.
