As a plus size person, it's difficult for me to find clothes in my size that I really like. I would like to remedy this by buying loose fabric and getting them made into clothes for me by a tailor. I have questions about this endeavour. [more inside]

My partner's One True Skirt is made from a nice durable light wool fabric, and we want more of it for making more skirts. Where can we get it? We usually work with whatever secondhand fabric we can find, so buying new fabric is a learning experience! [more inside]

I've seen a few articles about dresses, clothes and other structures designed by algorithm: you input a shape (a scan of a body, a 3d model of a dress, etc), and the algorithm reduces it to a mesh of triangles. These triangles can then be cut out of fabric and stitched together to make an odd-looking but well-fitted garment. What's this technique called? Is the software freely available? [more inside]
