A way to @tag or #label a music collection?
Basically this. I want to have: 1. some kind of database (or list or something), of 2. albums and/or songs and/or playlists or whatever, 3. that I would be able to tag, and sort/filter by multiple tags.
I don't know if this is RateYourMusic.com (which would be great) or Evernote...or Excel/Sheets (please don't make it be Excel/Sheets)...or what. But I feel like I've poked around for something like this multiple times over the years, and I'm surprised I haven't found it yet. [more inside]
Photo management?
I need a photo management system that allows me to tag and search photos, but I'd rather it NOT be web-based. I don't really know what to look for. [more inside]
A searchable, secure story database/repository
I work for a small nonprofit. Part of what we do is collect and share first-person, nonfictional stories. I've been asked to find a better way to organize and keep these stories. [more inside]

Structuring an idea database online
I'm looking for a way of structuring an idea database online (a few hundred entries, at most) that will allow several users to add entries, tag them, add commentary and upload files specific to each entry.
What am I looking for here?
How does flickr do it?
My developer and I want to create a database schema that allows us to search through hundreds of tags applied to thousands of records. So far our benchmarks suck. Are we expecting too much? [more inside]
Tag clouds in Filemaker?
I'm making a contact database for the first time in Filemaker. I've got a field where I'm entering useful tags. I want to make a front end for this system in the form of a tag cloud. Since I'm so new to Filemaker, I don't know if this is useful or possible -- all I know is Google's never heard of such a thing. [more inside]
Database schema for a site like 43 Things?
Can someone please help me understand how a database for a site like 43 Things (www.43things.com) works? There are users, tags for categories, user comments (for categories), and comments that can be associated with other comments. I understand that you would need a user table, a comments table, and a tags table but how do you create a schema for a site like this that works effectively? What kind of table structure is needed and how do the tables interrelate?
