Basically this. I want to have: 1. some kind of database (or list or something), of 2. albums and/or songs and/or playlists or whatever, 3. that I would be able to tag, and sort/filter by multiple tags. I don't know if this is RateYourMusic.com (which would be great) or Evernote...or Excel/Sheets (please don't make it be Excel/Sheets)...or what. But I feel like I've poked around for something like this multiple times over the years, and I'm surprised I haven't found it yet. [more inside]

I'm making a contact database for the first time in Filemaker. I've got a field where I'm entering useful tags. I want to make a front end for this system in the form of a tag cloud. Can someone please help me understand how a database for a site like 43 Things (www.43things.com) works? There are users, tags for categories, user comments (for categories), and comments that can be associated with other comments. I understand that you would need a user table, a comments table, and a tags table but how do you create a schema for a site like this that works effectively? What kind of table structure is needed and how do the tables interrelate?
