Can I Only Update My Address With Equifax By Mail?
I have just moved and wish to update my address with Equifax. The other credit agencies allowed me to do this online, but Equifax say I have to mail them a photocopy of my driver's license and SS card. I have never updated my address with them in the past, but they already have all my previous addresses, so do I need to mail them my details too - or will they just get updated automagically? New Sky Business Router won't let me change the subnet...
A friend's business has gone with Sky Connect (Business) in the UK and their router (a BR440) refuses to allow them to move to 192.168.2.x because it wants to use it for 'public wifi'. I can't find anyway to change this in the settings - it isn't possible, confirmed by Sky.
All of the LAN and various (micro)services are configured to use 192.168.2.x but the router issues 192.168.0.x. It's very annoying. [more inside]
How to send a package without the recipient learning my address
Apologies for the vagueness, but here goes. I need to send a package, I need to be sure that it arrives, and I need to do it in a way that does NOT allow the person on the other end to find out where I live--not from a return address or anything. [more inside]

Looking at the source code didn't help at all
[Gauntlet thrown, Mefite geeks -- here's a challenge:] I've been playing with blocking a few sites by editing my hosts file and mapping domain names to 127.0.0.1. Google, bless their little "don't be evil" hearts, has decided to present me with a working solitaire game every time I search Google for the word [solitaire]. I cannot figure out how to block this without blocking Google. Any ideas? [more inside]

Essential Research
I am looking to create a small compendium of contemporary thought for myself. As a guide, I think of the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines. How do I get Google to fix directions to my home on Google Maps?
If you enter my address in to Google Maps, the map locates my address in the alley behind my building instead of to the front door, and the photo that represents my building on Google Maps is a photo of the back of the building taken from the alley. [more inside]

Gmail autocompletes my home address but it's slightly off
Hi folks. When I use Gmail, and I type the words "my address is," Gmail will autocomplete with a full home address (109 Evergreen Terrace, Springfield IL). However, I live at 123 Evergreen Terrace (not really). It's almost exactly my address, just off by a little. Is there any way I can fix this?

My amazon fire tablet was stolen and is being used. How to get IP Adress

Why do we still mail things to places instead of people?
Each apartment I’ve lived in my address has changed. :( And when, for example, my aunt sends me a package four years after moving to my old address I’ll never see it. But with the contemporary computerized world why haven’t we changed that? I mean I figure you could just go to the post office and just get a “post number” that was unique to you for all time. And that number could be associated with your current address. Then people wanting to mail you will always put that “post number” on the package and regardless of where your living the package would arrive there! The problem of shipping to an old address would mostly be gone. I wouldn’t have to update my address on 500 DIFFERENT WEBSITES WHEN I MOVED!! Why hasn’t this change come to regular old snail mail? What am I missing?

How to get a bank account if you are technically homeless?
My friend has no fixed residence, and either couchsurfs with friends or stays in AirBNB places in NYC. He is the happiest person I know, and all his possessions fit in his backpack. But - his bank found out that the address he gave them was a UPS mailbox and not an actual address, and terminated his account. This has introduced an element of sadness to his otherwise happy life. How can he get an account? [more inside]
What are the benefits of giving out an address that isn't yours?
I know someone, a profligate liar, who has on several occasions put in the addresses of people known to them for things like parking tickets or medical services, so that the resident receives mail at that address under this person's name. What kind of benefits might they get from doing this, as opposed to using their own address or a fake address or an address that exists but isn't connected to somebody they know? [more inside]
How can I keep my current address confidential from a previous employer?

Advice for changing to a new email address – myfirstname@mylastname.com

Moving. Is there a resource to update my new address with everyone?
I have maintained the same mailing address for many years. That person is moving very soon. How do I update my mailing address with everyone - magazines, bills, IRS, DMV etc. Do I have to call everyone individually? Is there a resource to do this in "one shot?"
I'm sure that I will have to go to the local post office for starters, but what is the easiest way to do this?
Thank you in advance [more inside]

Email address on my own domain - good idea or not?
I've had a Yahoo email address for umpteen years and am thinking of changing given how down-the-tubes Yahoo is going. I do have a Gmail address, but the Yahoo is monoblanco@ whereas the Gmail is a hard-to-remember monoblanco304567@ because some other monoblanco got there first.
I also own the domain monoblanco.com so I could be monoblanco@monoblanco.com. That'd be neat! But what about spam filters and is Gmail so much superior that I should just suck it up and accept that I can't be plain-vanilla monoblanco any more?
Form of Address: Mother and Son Edition.
A while back, I was dining out with my mother. She is a widow, I am her unmarried son. Our server (who spoke English as a second language), addressed us as "Mr. & Mrs. Renault". I was squicked out. An address of 'Mr. & Mrs.', while perhaps technically correct, has a suggestion that we are a Mr. and Mrs. of each other, which we are most definitely not. So how should he have addressed us? Not an apartment!
The US Postal service has an address standardization/correction service that many companies use. When we put our condo address in as 123A Main Street, it changes it to "123 MAIN ST APT A". Since we don't live in an apartment, is there any way to change that with the USPS so it would be "123 MAIN ST UNIT A" or "123A MAIN ST"?

Need to find and completely remove all hyperlinks/URL's from a Word doc
I have a 100-page Word document full of miscellaneous content from different websites.
Unfortunately, after each section taken from a website, there's basically a citation for where the content was taken from that contains the URL for the website.

What's the best way to figure out someone's mailing address?
I'm writing a book, and I just got the following task from my editor: get a sizable (50+) list of high profile people who have written blurbs or reviews for similar books, and get their mailing addresses. Here's the kicker: I'm not supposed to contact them directly, unless I already know them personally. So! What's the best way to do this?
