Which is least-bad for a 1500-mile trip in Feb: fly or drive?

I am moving from Texas to California (~1500 miles) in late February. I can't figure out, based on current information, which is least-bad: flying or driving. I have a few pros and cons for each and I'm genuinely torn. Can you provide any insight on which is safer? [more inside]

How to cope with the aftermath of a traumatizing move

My husband and I have moved back into our home this weekend, in a busy US coastal city that is experiencing a Covid surge like the rest of the country. Our movers were pretty unprofessional and did not wear masks correctly for the entire move and I am now feeling really uncomfortable and unsafe afterward and I don't know what to do. [more inside]

I need to pack + move out of my NYC apartment... from 3,000 miles away

I'm a mid-twenties student at a university in Manhattan who left the city to visit my parents in California "for spring break" back in March. Long story short, it's now August and I've recently decided that I won't be returning to my apartment as I had initially planned - instead, I'll be staying with my parents in my childhood home through at least this upcoming new year. Unfortunately, I left some valuable stuff behind in my bedroom (along with some generally-personal items) and I'm at a bit of a loss as to how I should best proceed from here. [more inside]

Would you rush an interstate move right now, to save $35-55K?

We live in California and have already been planning a move to Washington/Idaho or Vermont/New Hampshire. If it weren't for COVID, we would have moved already and bought a home. Now, we are about to receive a bit of an (unexpected) windfall in the next 90 days, and realize we could save quite a bit in taxes if we sped up our move to either Washington or New Hampshire. What factors should we be thinking about, and would you do it? [more inside]

How should I best prepare to move within the next 30 days?

We have a new lease that begins in 30 days and there will be a 15-day overlap where we will pay for two apartments (what fun!). Our currently place is your typical 2-bedroom apartment so we do not have a ton of extra space. We also have a toddler. How should we best utilize the next 30 days, taking into consideration normal move prep as well as COVID. [more inside]
