paul kilgus was part of the december, 1988 trade between the cubs and rangers that saw rafael palmeiro head to texas while kilgus went to chicago. here's his 1989 o-pee-chee card:

kilgus had won 12 games for the rangers in 1988, but he went on to win just 6 for the cubbies. still, the cubs won the nl east in 1989, and kilgus was part of the postseason roster. in what would be his only postseason appearance, he pitched three scoreless innings in relief of greg maddux in game 1 of the nlcs. after the season, he was traded to toronto.
